Hello…
Artist Statement
““Art is the liturgy of the one who seeks to see; the canvas, a veil pulled back to glimpse the eternal through the wonder and beauty of that which fades.”
I was born an artist and a storyteller, and I have never known life without them. For more than half a century, these companions have shaped my vision, guiding me to translate the mysteries of existence into image and word.
My creative practice is rooted in the conviction that inspiration flows from the divine—an unseen Spirit that stirs both story and image into being. In my work, I seek to lose myself in this current of creation, whether through the long devotion of painting or the sudden spark of a tale that demands to be told.
I draw upon history, myth, urban legend, and the strange encounters that blur the line between the natural and the supernatural. Every abandoned building, lavishly decorated old church, each old card haunting the roadside and all the ways and forms that nature takes in consuming things made by man , awaken in me the certainty that we inhabit not only this visible world but also an unseen one layered just beyond perception.
Through art and storytelling, I strive to open that veil—inviting others to peer into mystery, to contemplate the eternal, and to find wonder in the interplay of shadow and light.
My mission is threefold:
I create art that emerges from the unseen world, entwined with history and myth. My work dwells in the liminal thresholds between life and death, inviting contemplation of the mysteries that lie just beyond perception. Each piece serves as both a memento and a portal, pointing toward realms that whisper of the paranormal, the eternal, and the unknown.
Through diverse media, I weave together histories, myths, and accounts of the strange and the spiritual, the supernatural and the divine, with narratives that both entertain and expand our understanding of what lies beyond our senses. I seek to transform these stories into works of art that embody their mystery, offering a refined interplay between storytelling and imagery.
With each work of art, I extend an invitation into my world—a space where imagination stirs, questions take root, and the extraordinary emerges from the ordinary. My creations aspire to awaken curiosity, awe, and wonder, while also affirming a deeper hope: the eternal life of the soul and the enduring love of God. In balancing darkness with light, mystery with revelation, I seek to honor both the thrill of storytelling and the transformative power of art to illuminate the unseen.
Short Bio
I’m a San Antonio-based artist whose creative journey has always been deeply personal and spiritually grounded. Long before I stepped into the world of design, I was a painter at heart—drawn to the mystery of the unseen and compelled to translate inner visions into visual form.
After serving in the United States Army, I pursued my passion for painting and earned a Bachelor’s in Painting with an emphasis on Graphic Design. It was during this formative time in college that I met and married my college sweetheart, Lili. Together, we’ve built a beautiful life and are blessed with six amazing children who continue to inspire my creative and spiritual life.
For over 30 years, I’ve worked professionally as a graphic designer, illustrator, and creative director—collaborating with major agencies and institutions, including NASA, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Homeland Security. I also ran a small web design business and eventually moved into design leadership. Yet through it all, painting has remained the constant thread—the truest expression of who I am.
Today, my artistic practice is rooted in contemplative observation, spiritual inquiry, and storytelling. I explore the threshold between the visible and invisible worlds—painting sacred landscapes, meditations on mortality, and scenes that reflect a liminal space where memory, myth, and mystery converge.
My work is both devotional and exploratory: visual prayers that honor silence, reverence, and the enduring presence of the spirit world. Each painting invites the viewer to pause and step into a contemplative space—one where the soul can encounter wonder, and the unknown is welcomed rather than feared.
